Summer Reads...

Coffee Table Books:

Until my summer school adventure, I plan on doing absolutely nothing but basking in the sun while catching up on some reading. I love reading and hate when school rolls around and I am forced to read nothing but text book material.

The books I love span from teen fiction, such as
Gossip Girl, to spiritual awakening books like Broken Open, to memoirs like The Glass Castle. Lately I haven't been buying books to read so much as books to sit pretty on my coffee table.

The Edge of Fashion

"The 'Matlo Woman' is bold, audacious & sexy"

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jason Matlo, the man behind one of Canada's most luxurious and cultured clothing lines. I was invited to Alberta Fashion Week where Jason revealed his latest collection. Let me tell you, it was just as stunning as he is charming.

Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Jason now resides & designs in Vancouver, British Columbia. He certainly is no stranger to the fashion world. Fresh from school, he was named Designer of the Year at the Smirnoff Fashion Awards in 1998. Jason was also crowned the winning designer on one of Canada's first reality TV shows, "Making it Big".

In talking about his success, the Helen Lefeaux grad has quoted, “Helen Lefeaux said to her students ‘I don’t care how innovative your design is, if you don’t make a woman’s body look beautiful, you will not sell clothing.’

That statement was proven true by what I saw of his Fall 2010 Collection. It was a mixture of all my favorite colors; black, grey & silver. The use of texture and careful attention to detail, really showed the true nature of Jason's artistry. Each piece I could envision myself wearing. They made a sophisticated statement, while giving off a confident & feminine feel at the same time.

Jason is setting the bar for Canadian fashion and he is setting it high. Who will need European fashion when we have such talent right here at home...

Walk the Walk..

Denim Shirt:Dollhouse; Tank:AmericanApparel; Leggings:Anonymous;
Boots:Spring; Purse&Watch:ALDO; Necklace&Ring:Forever21

As promised, school is over and the blog takes over my life once again. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, I wanted to show off my favorite denim shirt. Male or female, this is an item you need to have in your closet.

I own two denim shirts and I wear them all the time. They are so comfortable and look a lot less sloppy than that hoodie, we all have and wear, when needing to feel comfortable.

Love is like a Stubborn Youth

T-Shirt:BlueCrush; Tank:OldNavy; Pants:JoeFresh;
Gladiators:Dollhouse; Braclet:Bebe

Once the nice weather comes, there is nothing better than putting on pair of cargo pants to head out the door. I love these pants and depending how you wear them, they never seem to go out of style.

I have the usual colors of white, beige and black but my latest addition is army green. I am loving the military trend of the season and I'm finding my gladiators go extremely well with the look.

Change Your Heart...

I'm desperately sorry, I feel like I have been neglecting my followers for quite sometime now. It's been busy with lots on the go but at least I have school out of the way, well for 2 weeks.I promise there are lots of exciting events in my future for me to blog about, so hang in there just a little longer.

Some times it's good to sit back & realize what makes you happy and learn what you can do without.
The picture I found is cute and reflective of my life these days. I have had a change of heart and deeply driven myself into fashion; really great things have come out of it, one being my blog and the lovely comments from you readers.
