Cozy Couture

Expressions @TheBay [$35]

It's groundbreaking...

This scarf [neckbrace] is the best thing that has happened to me this winter. It might be a bit much for some but I absolutely love having it drape around my neck three times.

Lately I have been crazy for knit wear; yes everything from knitted knee high socks to extreme scarves. This is my favorite purchase of the season because it's a perfect mix of soft feminine fullness & a very bold statement.

A Weekend of Outfits

I'd like to say I returned from Vancouver with a smile on my face & a song in my heart, but I didn't. The reality was I missed my flight, added 4 hours onto my travel day and came home to minus 30 with 3 feet of snow. Added to the fact I was suffering extreme separation anxiety from one of my besties.

The weekend left me once again, with many good memories and a disgusting amount of inside jokes. It's so comforting knowing you have such great friends that you may not see everyday but you know will always love and care for you. We pick up right where we leave off and always agree the city just couldn't handle us all living there together.

You Should Know Better

I can die a happy woman...

It was the concert I have been waiting many months for. It started when my dear friend Kyle called me to say he bought the last two tickets to Robyn's Vancouver concert. It was my birthday present and I was coming like it or not.

For those of you confused about who Robyn is, she is a blast from the past & the face of the future; think "Show Me Love" & "Do You Know (What It Takes)". The tickets were extremely cheap, $30 cheap, and I know prices will sky rocket to $300 for her next concert. I will be slightly annoyed when she becomes insanely popular because then everyone will jump on her bandwagon. Oh well, I loved her before she was mainstream.

Her concert was one of the most unpretentious concerts I have ever been to in my life. She was purely there to perform and make her fans happy. It was completely different than most artists who simply pop in their current CD and go through track after track with all the coordinating choreography. You could tell Robyn felt everything she was singing about and she was genuinely excited to be on stage performing; plus she has sick unrehearsed dance moves and threw in a stage dive.

I normally don't go so crazy over concerts but she just seems like such a sweet & sincere person (I have a friend who met her!!!) that I really hope she continues to climb the charts. If you ever get the chance to see her DO IT. It was so nice to know every word to every song & dance to them all.

Threadsence

While doing my daily internet creep I discovered this great site for inexpensive, fun jewellery. I'm always up for a great deal and I'm even more keen on finding funky pieces to display on my fingers. My favorite item from this site is the mustache ring, everyone has to support "Movember" in their own way right?

Anyway, this site
ThreadSence is definitely worth a check out. They have some pretty cute clothes as well. As for me I need to pack, pack, pack and get my things in order because tomorrow morning I will be leaving this snow behind and making my way to the Wet West Coast.

Albums to get you through the week:
Cheryl Cole - Messy Little Raindrops
Rihanna - LOUD
Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday
Nadine Coyle - Insatiable

I greatly apologize for the lack of posts. Life is crazy busy right now! As ROBYN would say "my school work is killin' me... work is killin' me... my lifestyle is killin' me..." but nevertheless I am not complaining to have so many good things going for me right now.

As of today I am on a one week countdown until I get to see Miss ROBYN herself live in concert. Yes, I am getting ready to put my combat boots on and hustle myself out to Vancity in less than 1 weeks time. Oh where to begin packing!!

Desert Skies

I was cleaning up my computer and I came across this magazine spread I had found a long time ago. The only problem is I don't remember where they are from or who took them!

Photo shoots in the desert are my absolute favorite. I don't know what it is about using that location that I love so much. Maybe the contrast between the brilliant blue, cloudless sky mixed against the color of the water thirsty ground. As the weather is starting to turn colder one can only dream of being in warmer places like this...
